New Parent, Same Deadlines: How I'm Approaching Social Media While Raising Twins

Well, I didn't technically have them, my wife did. But you get the gist

This isn’t news to anyone with kids, but it’s a monumental life change.

See, earlier this year my wife gave birth to Twins (Everett & Marcus) and since that time we’ve been juggling running our business and being new parents.

It’s a lot.

But it’s also taught me a lot, and I figured I’d share what I’ve learned so far and some tips I’ve found that help me stay in the loop with social media.

1. Time is Scarce, So Scrolling Better Have Intention

Before kids, I’d fall into a TikTok hole every other night. I had — what now seems like — infinite free time. Well, that’s changed.

But I still run a social media agency and need to be active on the platforms. So what I did was build a list of people whose posts I would check on every few days. This stopped my scrolling and put intention behind the content I was consuming.

Email me if you want this template and I’ll send you the Notion board.

2. Batch Create, Everything

Our client work takes up the majority of waking hours, so in order to do things like build a YouTube channel, post on social, and publish a Newsletter I’ve relied on batch creating. I outlined this a little in my 2025 YouTube Strategy video, but the basic premise is simple: set aside designated days for content creation.

3. AI is Your Friend

I’m not a huge fan of AI creating content, but I’m in support of AI helping you organize/format your content. For me, that meant taking my ideas and dumping them into ChatGPT to help me create assets for social, or YouTube scripts. AI is your friend, if you use it to enhance your voice, not replace it.

4. Be Kind to Yourself

Man, life is hard sometimes. And when you’re sleep deprived and stressed, it’s easy to not be so nice to yourself.

So, I’ve actively been working on creating a more positive inner dialogue and reminding myself that if I’m only giving 80% some days, that’s all I have (and it’s enough).

27-year-old me might say ‘shut up, grind harder’ but 37-year-old me knows it’s better to be kinder and move at quick but sustainable speeds.

Parenthood hasn’t made things easier, but it’s sharpened my focus. If you’re navigating your own version of chaos, I hope these tips help you stay steady.

Until next week,
Jordan 🍻
