⚫️🟡 How to Get 'unstuck' When Creating Content

how I broke out of a three year hiatus of from creating content (and what I learned)

If you’re like me, you’ll find 2,700 things to do before you start creating content.

Don’t believe me? Before writing this email, I wandered around the kitchen cleaning random stuff for 30 minutes.

But I’m here now.

And I want to show you how to get unstuck when it comes to content creation.

During the 2010s, I wrote a lot. I had a column on Inc., contributed to MSNBC, Entrepreneur, and more. Then one day, I stopped. And it took nearly three years to write anything for myself again.

What happened? Did I burn out? Lose my edge?

No. I let resistance win.

In The War of Art, Steven Pressfield talks about the invisible force that stops us from doing creative work. That force is resistance. And it shows up everywhere—even in the form of dishwashing.

So, how do you beat it?

First, time-blocking. Create a consistent space in your week dedicated to content. No meetings. No multitasking. That time is sacred. You won’t create gold every time, but the act of showing up matters more than what you produce.

Second, deadlines. If you’ve ever worked on one, you know their power. Deadlines force decisions. They turn “someday” into done. Use them for yourself, your team, or both.

Third, a content system. The right system raises your creative floor. It gives you structure, reduces decision fatigue, and builds momentum. We use a simple, repeatable system every week. Get it here→ Social System 1.0

And no matter what, keep showing up. Resistance hates that.
